What brings people in

Conditions we treat every week.

Most of the people who walk through our door are not career PT patients. They are runners who pushed too hard, desk workers whose back finally gave out, new parents with pelvic floor concerns, and people leaving the hospital wondering what comes next.

No. 01

Lower back pain

From acute flare-ups to chronic disc-related pain. Most patients feel meaningful improvement within three to five visits.

No. 02

Neck pain & stiffness

Forward-head posture, whiplash, and tech neck. Often linked to headaches and shoulder tension — we address the whole chain.

No. 03

Sports injuries

Runners, cyclists, Ducks athletes, weekend warriors. We design return-to-sport plans that respect your timeline, not a generic one.

No. 04

Post-surgical rehab

Knee replacements, rotator cuff repairs, ACL reconstructions, spinal fusions. Structured, progression-based recovery from day one.

No. 05

Pelvic floor dysfunction

Incontinence, pelvic pain, prolapse, diastasis recti, and prenatal/postpartum concerns. Treated with care and clinical precision.

No. 06

Vestibular disorders

Dizziness, BPPV, and balance disorders. Specialized vestibular rehab with targeted repositioning and habituation techniques.

No. 07

Shoulder & rotator cuff

Frozen shoulder, tendinopathy, bursitis, impingement. Common in desk workers, overhead athletes, and post-surgical patients alike.

No. 08

Hip & knee pain

IT band syndrome, patellofemoral pain, hip labral issues, and osteoarthritis. We identify the source — not just the symptom.

No. 09

Lymphedema

Post-cancer and primary lymphedema management. Complete decongestive therapy, compression education, and long-term home programs.

No. 10

Work & motor vehicle injuries

We document thoroughly, coordinate with your employer, adjuster, or attorney, and build a recovery plan around your return-to-work goals.

No. 11

Post-cancer rehab

Fatigue, deconditioning, lymphedema, neuropathy, and range-of-motion restrictions after cancer treatment. Gentle, evidence-based recovery.

No. 12

Pediatric PT

Age-appropriate treatment for growing bodies — developmental delays, sports injuries, postural concerns, and growth-related pain in children and teens.

Treatment approach

Hands first.
Science always. Results that stick.

Every patient gets a real exam, real listening, and a program that explains itself. The tools below are not a menu — they are the kit we draw from once we understand what is actually going on with your body.

Tool · 01

Manual therapy

Joint mobilization, soft-tissue work, myofascial release, and targeted hands-on techniques to restore mobility, reduce pain, and prepare tissue for therapeutic exercise.

Tool · 02

Therapeutic exercise

Progressive, individually designed exercise programs — not generic handouts. Each movement is chosen and coached for your specific deficits, goals, and tolerance.

Tool · 03

Clinical Pilates

Stott Pilates and CoreAlign-based programming for core stabilization, postural correction, and movement quality. Particularly effective for chronic low back and pelvic floor cases.

Tool · 04

Massage therapy

Ten-plus licensed massage therapists on staff — available standalone or as a coordinated complement to your PT program. Therapeutic, deep tissue, and lymphatic-drainage techniques.

Tool · 05

Vestibular rehabilitation

Targeted repositioning maneuvers (Epley, Semont), gaze stabilization, and balance training for BPPV, concussion, and chronic dizziness.

Tool · 06

Pelvic health therapy

Internal and external assessment and treatment for pelvic floor dysfunction. Delivered in a private setting with full informed consent and a collaborative, patient-paced approach.

Tool · 07

Home program & education

Short, specific exercises you will actually do between sessions. We would rather give you four well-chosen moves than fourteen you will skip — and we will explain the why behind each one.

"Physical therapy is not a passive process. We give you the tools — your effort makes the difference."

First visit

What to expect on your first appointment.

No mystery. No "let's see how it goes." Here is exactly what happens, in order, when you come in for the first time.

  1. 1

    Paperwork (15 minutes)

Download the new-patient packet ahead of time or fill it out on arrival. Bring your insurance card, photo ID, and any relevant imaging (X-ray, MRI reports) if you have them.

  2. 2

    Conversation (20 minutes)

Your PT sits down with you — unhurried. We listen first. What hurts, when it started, what you have already tried, and what you actually need to get back to doing.

  3. 3

    Functional assessment

Orthopedic and movement testing — range of motion, strength, balance, and special tests relevant to your complaint. If imaging is needed and you do not have it, we will advise you.

  4. 4

    Clear plan, clear timeline

You will leave knowing what is wrong (in plain language), how we will treat it, how many visits to expect, and what success looks like. No vague "come back three times a week indefinitely."

  5. 5

First treatment, if you are ready

Most new patients begin treatment on the first visit. If more information is needed before we start, we will tell you — and schedule accordingly, no charge for the visit.

The whole team at Staszak PT is wonderful. My therapist listened to every concern, explained exactly what was happening, and had me back on the trail in less time than I expected. I cannot say enough good things.

The pelvic floor PT I received here changed my life. My provider was professional, compassionate, and incredibly skilled. I wish I had come sooner. This is exactly the kind of care Eugene needs.

Common questions

What new patients usually ask first.

If your question is not here, just call — we would rather answer it now than have you guess.

Do I need a referral to see a physical therapist?

No. Oregon is a direct-access state. You can call us directly, and we can evaluate and begin treatment without a physician referral for most insurances. A few plans do require authorization — we will check yours before your first visit and let you know in advance.

How long until I feel better?

Most patients notice meaningful improvement within three to five visits. Chronic or post-surgical cases take longer — we will give you an honest, individualized timeline after your first evaluation, not a generic twelve-week package.

What is the difference between a PT and a chiropractor?

Physical therapists focus on restoring movement, strength, and function through exercise, manual therapy, and education. The goal is to give you tools that work long after your last appointment. Chiropractic care focuses primarily on spinal manipulation. There is overlap, and some patients benefit from both — we will tell you honestly if a referral elsewhere makes sense for your case.

Do you offer Pilates classes?

Yes. We offer clinical Pilates on Stott and CoreAlign equipment — both one-on-one within a PT plan and small-group wellness classes. Ask about availability when you call.

Is massage therapy covered by insurance?

It depends on your plan. Some insurances cover massage when it is part of an active PT treatment plan; standalone massage sessions are typically self-pay. We will clarify this before your first visit.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on what is wrong and how long it has been wrong. We do not sell prepaid care plans. After your evaluation we will recommend a realistic plan with a clear endpoint — and revisit it together as you progress.

Which location should I choose?

Our main clinic is at 488 E 11th Ave, Suite 150A. Our second location is at 1835 Pearl St. Both are on the south side of Eugene. Choose whichever is more convenient — the same clinical standards and team culture apply at both.

Stop telling yourself "it'll get better on its own."

It usually does not. And the sooner you come in, the fewer visits it typically takes.
